Skim pour Mac

From the Skim bug reported for April 2026: "Skim auto-hides the horizontal and vertical scroll bars, even when the Mac OS settings have Show Scroll Bars set to Always." From Mr. Hofman, one of the developers: "This is deliberate. It is a workaround for an even worse bug on Tahoe, where it scrolls up all the time when the scroll bars do not auto-hide, basically making scrolling and text selection impossible." These developers have provided us with an incredibly useful program in Skim. Skim is the only one of very many programs that operate correctly in this regard. Why do they not also have this scroll bar problem if it is Apple's problem? Admittedly, Apple is absolutely horrible in leaving glaring bugs in programs for years and decades.

I used to always use PDF Expert. But it became increasingly sluggish, so I looked around for alternatives and ended up with Skim. I am absolutely thrilled. I don't miss any features that are important to me, and Skim is lightning fast. In the time it used to take me to wait for the other app to start up, I can now open 10 large PDF files with Skim.

Skim is a perfect replacement for the Preview application from Apple. It's so sad that almost every piece of software from Apple got unusable since Mr. Cook came.
